Before Alma Elena Cervantes began her teaching career she served as a College Preparation Counselor for a Federally Funded Program “Upward Bound”. She continued her social work as a Community Organizer for a Drug Education and Prevention Program in the City of Los Angeles. Currently Professor Cervantes is a Member of the San Mateo Community College Distance Education Advisory Committee (DEAC) the Skyline College Technology Advisory Committee (TAC)and currently serving as chair of the Computer Applications and Office Technology Department (CAOT).
